So you've trimmed the fat, you've got the lightest gun on the market, you roll with a 2+1 pack and spandex tights. You don't wear pads, you have a sleeveless jersey... all in the name of saving weight. So you get up in the morning, pick up your 10 lb compressed air tank and sigh, wishing that you could have a tank that was as light as the rest of your gear... but you can!First of all, we want to warn you to be careful. This regulator is small and tends to get lost if you don't keep track of it. A mere 3/4" from the bottle to the threads (compared to 2 or more inches on competing regulators), this regulator is not only light and small, but incredibly versatile and high-flow as well. There is no "high-pressure" or "low-pressure" version - instead, Guerrilla Air has a special hybrid version that works with all guns - high and low pressure. The flow rate is so incredibly high that even if you've got a gas-gulping, high-pressure Spyder, this regulator will keep up with it on the worst days!Features:Guerilla Air Myth 3.5 Year Fixed High Pressure N2 Tank Mounted on a 62ci/3000psi HPA steel cylinder A previously un-thought of size and weight. Virtually instantaneous recharge - a Guerrilla Air hallmark Uncharted air efficiency and utilization - stellar performance, all the way down to 0 psi Patented High-Flow Dump Channels - permits total venting of cylinder contents in case of catastrophic failure. In English? "If your tank becomes unstable, the regulator safely vents the gas" Over-Pressurization Relief Port - prevents over-pressurization of the regulator's internals or your paintball gun User friendly and rebuildable Replaceable head tip (for those accidental dings to the o-ring gland). Dye Precision Rhino 68CI High Paintball Pressure Air Bottle Cover |
|
Aside from your elbow or knee, your tank is usually the one thing that hits the ground the hardest. Taking care of your tank is just as important as your body. 4500 pounds of pressure is a serious thing. The rhino cover is a virtual barrier for your tank to help prevent scrapes and scuffs that could end up terminating the life of your high pressure air system. The wrap around direct injects and the injection molded scale section of the grip practically glue the tank to your shoulder. Another item where style meets function, direct inject logos ensure long lasting good looks. Because the bottom usually takes the most abuse, we’ve included high-density nylon coated padding with rubber abrasion print to help soften the blows |

What causes low air pressure and what causes high air pressure?
So the text book from which I am working from gives me the definition for air pressure but does not explain what high and low pressure are and what causes them. The only thing that it does mention is that low pressure is characterized with poor cloudy weather and high pressure is associated with clear days.
Does it have to do with temperature? I am so confused
Here it is:
On the first day of creation, God make the atmosphere to be 1013,25 hPa pressure at sea level and 15 degrees Celsius temperature. Then he said that the temperature will sink with 0.65 degrees per 100 meter of altitude. Then he called it the Standard Atmosphere (SA).
On day two, the sun being higher over the equator warmed it up, and the poles cooled down. Warm air being lighter, it rose at the equator, creating a low pressure, and sank at the poles, creating two high pressures. The wind then started blowing from the poles to the equator on the surface, and inversely at altitude.
On the third day, God forgot that the earth had to spin. When it started, the Coriolis effect started to play tricks: in the northern hemisphere, the air from the equator at altitude started turning to the right and fall back in two belts of high pressure, at about 30 degrees north and south of the equator.
But between the sub-tropical high pressures and polar high pressures, a front was created because air of different temperature mix poorly.
Those two fronts are roughly at latitudes 60 north and south. Along them warm air climbs over cold polar air. The uprising causes low pressures.
And that's how the main systems of high and low pressures on earth are working. The equatorial low pressures are responsible for the equatorial rain forest. Then comes sub tropical high pressure with desertic regions, then the frontal lows, then the polar high pressures.
As the air rises in a low pressure, it cools down adiabatically and the moisture has to condense into clouds and rain.
As the air sinks in a high pressure, it warms up adiabatically and the moisture in the clouds evaporate, giving room for a clear sky.
The adiabatic effect is exactly what you have in your frigde: A gas is compressed, giving heat, then released through a nozzle, creating cold.
... this is what I teach to airmen when I teach meteorology. Well ... that's only the first five minutes of a three hours course!
