Can I go diving with a TBI?
I was in a severe car accident a year ago in which I got a TBI due to a subdural hematoma. I have small pieces of titanium on my skull from where they cut to get to the bleed. Will I be alright to go on a shallow dive, about 30-40ft deep? Does scuba diving effect people with TBIs?
for those that keep saying this, i have talked to many doctors and they all say something different
I'm not an expert... but u should be fine. Unless your skull is really weak, and might succumb to 2-3 normal atmospheric pressure, there should not be a problem. Just be sure to make extra safety stops to prevent nitrogen in your bloodstream from causing problem with your TBI. For "expert" advice talk to your doctor or an experienced diver at your local shop.
